Plato How People supported play when I was young My mom allowed me to play tea party and she would give me some real food to play with and sometimes she would play with me. We would set my table in my room and my doll babies would sit around the table as if we were putting on a tea party. My tea set is still at my mothers house I told her that she could not get rid of it because my tea set was different than any tea set I have seen my tea set had faces on each piece. I also played rick rack on the paddle ball, hop scotch, marbles, skates, riding bicycles,and all types of circle games. When I was young the parents supported all the things we played. We played out side and when the street light came on we knew that it was time to go inside. Play was all we knew how to have fun playing outside. Play today is nothing like the play we had when I was young. Children today all they want to do is play hand games, computer type games,they do not know how to play the circle games or the games that we played some of them can not even skate or ride bicycles. Children today do not even know how to play kick ball or dodge ball. So I do not think that play today is anything like play was when I was a child . Children when I was a child loved to be outside to playing children today do not take to going outside they are all ways saying that they are tired we could play all day. The role of play to me is a great deal because children can learn through play. The earlier years is when children get the most of their learning and skills. Children should be encouraged more to play things that are not computer related they should get away from the Television, hand games, and things that keep them inside.
